Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Daichi Asatsuma (朝妻大智) ("we") handles information in the iOS application HelloWorkout (the "App").
1. Our approach
The App does not transmit your workout records anywhere.
No account is required, and we do not hold your workout records. Everything you record is stored in a database on your own device.
To improve the App, we send a contentless signal and a rounded number to our own server (section 3; you can turn this off in Settings). Your records are never included.
2. Information stored on your device
All of the following is entered by you and stored only on your device.
Your workout records and condition records (body weight, hours of sleep and so on), the exercises and templates you create, and your app settings.
Body weight and sleep are both optional — the App's recording features work without them (entering body weight improves the accuracy of volume calculations for bodyweight exercises).
Health-related information comes only from what you type in. At present, the App does not read from Apple Health (HealthKit) or any other health service.
3. Information sent off the device
We never send the contents of your workout records off your device.
To improve the App, we send only the following to a server we operate ourselves. Nothing beyond this list is sent.

Nothing that identifies you is included. We do not assign or send a device identifier or a user identifier, so the information we receive cannot be traced back to an individual.
Before fault information is sent, file paths, URLs, email addresses, identifiers and long numbers are stripped out automatically.
You can stop this from Settings. Turn off Settings → About → "Share usage data" and none of the above is sent from then on.
Your IP address necessarily reaches our server as part of any network request, but we do not read it and do not store it.
4. Device permissions

You can decline all of them and still use the App's recording features.
5. Backup and restore
This is not something we do, but it is the one exception to "stays on your device" in section 1.
Following your device's backup settings, the database on your device is included in iOS backups (iCloud Backup, or a direct device-to-device transfer). This is a function of the operating system; we never see its contents. Data held in iCloud is governed by Apple's privacy policy, and you can change whether it is included in your device settings.
Where you save or send a file you export yourself (Settings → Export your records) is your choice each time, and we are not involved in it.
6. Sharing with third parties
We do not hold your records, so there is nothing for us to share.
7. Retention and deletion
Records stay on your device until you delete them. Deleting the App from your device deletes its database as well.
If the data was included in an iOS backup, a copy remains inside that backup. Delete backups from your device or account settings.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children and has no mechanism for collecting information from them. Its App Store age rating is 9+.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page. If the App begins transmitting anything off the device, we will update this policy before that change ships.
